Job Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day patient care
- Supervise, direct, and develop nursing staff
- Report to the Director of Nursing to ensure quality patient care
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory standards
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Assist in maintaining resident care standards
- Supervise and direct activities of subordinate nurses in quality assurance, infection control, and utilization review activities
- Receive physicians' instructions regarding resident care and ensure orders are transmitted to other units as needed
- Oversee delegation of nursing and other therapeutic procedures to other professionals and paraprofessional associates
- Make regular patient rounds to observe and assess residents’ physical conditions and behaviors
- Evaluate the quality of care provided and ensure proper documentation of treatment and nursing observations
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Current R.N. license by State
- Experience in long-term care or working with the geriatric population
- Clerical ability to read reports and utilize data accurately
- Skill in organizing and planning programs
- Ability to manage personnel to provide nursing service
Preferred Skills
- At least two years nursing experience
- One year supervisory experience
- Ability to plan and coordinate department activities
