Job Responsibilities
- Ensure delivery of exceptional quality care by nursing and support staff during the surgical process.
- Lead, guide, and supervise all staff members involved in Surgical Services.
- Comply with Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Continuously evaluate and reevaluate care delivery in each surgical area.
- Drive outstanding perioperative care through supervisory functions.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Extensive expertise in medical terminology
- Deep understanding of surgical services and operating room procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Management skills
- Planning, organizing, implementing, facilitating, interviewing, coaching, and counseling
Preferred Skills
- Certified Surgical Tech (CST)
- Certified First Assist (FA)
- Intermediate computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet capabilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Requirements
Experience: 2-3 years of related supervisory experience in healthcare, within perioperative services is strongly preferred.
Education: Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred.
License & Certification:
- Unencumbered Georgia Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Maintain all CEU’s as required by the state
