Job Responsibilities

  • Provide work direction to the clinical and support staff.
  • Coordinate resources to support procedures and the smooth flow of patients.
  • Perform the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care.
  • Establish and implement nursing care plans.
  • Evaluate clinical outcomes when necessary.
  • Promote an environment for safe and efficient patient care.
  • Perform patient rounding on a daily basis.
  • Initiate service complaint follow-up when necessary.
  • Promote communication among patients, families, hospital departments, and medical staff.
  • Act as a resource for employees, including training and orienting new staff.
  • Direct efforts and provide guidance on complex issues.
  • Assist with human resource responsibilities such as interviewing and selecting new employees.
  • Resolve employee concerns and address employee morale when necessary.
  • Monitor staffing levels and adjust as necessary to maintain productivity.
  • Monitor the quality of care provided and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide input for budgeting and ensure adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Work with management to develop new programs and services.
  • Coordinate in-services for equipment and participate in product trials.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.

Requirements

Experience: Typically requires 3 years of experience in clinical nursing within an acute care setting.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Health Related Field; or Associate Degree and enrolled in BSN program within 2 years of hire.

License & Certification:

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
