Job Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of a written plan of care for each resident and ensure treatments align with care plans and wishes.
- Complete planning, scheduling, and revising of the MDS, including implementation of CAA’s and Triggers.
- Make daily rounds to ensure nursing personnel are performing their assignments.
- Review nurses’ notes to ensure they are informative and descriptive of care provided and resident responses.
- Develop and maintain good working rapport with facility personnel to ensure residents' needs are met.
- Participate in reviews of discharge plans and prepare reports for the Care Plan Committee.
- Delegate, train, evaluate, and support RN, LPN, and CNA personnel.
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services and fill in as needed.
- Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.
- Make recommendations for changes in procedures, policies, and general nursing practices to ensure quality patient care.
- Attend continuing education programs to stay updated in the profession and provide leadership for nursing training.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse license
- Supervisory experience in a skilled nursing facility
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Fluency in English
- Active CPR/BLS certification
Preferred Skills
- Experience in patient care plan development
- Understanding of HIPAA guidelines
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a supervisor or charge nurse in a skilled nursing facility.
Education: Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
License & Certification:
- Active RN license
- Active CPR/BLS certification
