Assist health care members in providing detailed patient education on adequacy measures.
Welcome assigned patients and inquire about their wellbeing since the last treatment.
Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform necessary cannulation.
Obtain pre and post treatment vital signs and weight.
Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders, including blood flow and dialysate flow.
Monitor patient response to dialysis therapy and document accordingly.
Discontinue dialysis treatment following established procedures and assess the patient.
Document and report any significant changes in patient conditions to the RN or supervisor.
Prepare and clean the dialysis machine and surrounding area between treatments.
Assist in training direct patient care staff under the supervision of a nurse.
Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
Complete and document participation in infection control audits and monitor adherence to practices.
Follow newly admitted patients through their first 4 weeks of dialysis and coordinate care.

Experience: At least two years previous patient care experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
