Job Responsibilities

Provide emergency and critical care services for canine, feline, and companion animal patients.
Collaborate with other emergency veterinarians, veterinary specialists, house officers, and referring veterinarians.
Develop, manage, and oversee the Emergency Medicine & Critical Care Service.
Assist in the professional training and development of ER doctors, veterinary student externs, and house officers.
Provide small animal emergency and critical care.

Required Skills

Core Skills

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
Board-certification ACVECC or ECVECC
Five or more years of clinical experience in small animal emergency medicine
Strong communication skills
Ability to work well in a professional team atmosphere

Preferred Skills

Completion of a small animal rotating or emergency medicine internship
Experience supervising, training and evaluating staff in a small animal hospital setting
Teaching experience with veterinary students and/or house officers

Requirements

Experience: Five or more years of clinical experience in small animal emergency medicine.

Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent.

License & Certification:

Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in California by hire date
Board-certification ACVECC or ECVECC

Schedule will vary, typically four 10 hour days with occasional weekends and on-call
