Job Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse.
Perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned.
Maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients.
Delegate activities/tasks to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters as appropriate.
Ensure assignments are performed according to the age and developmental level of patients being served.

Requirements

Experience: Less than one year of related experience.

Education: Associate's Degree; must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer to the position.

License & Certification:

Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida.
BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required on the first day of employment.
ACLS from the American Heart Association required at hire or transfer for specific departments.
PALS from the American Heart Association required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for specific departments.
Crisis Prevention Institute training within ninety (90) days, then annually, required for Psych Unit.
