Job Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs within an urgent care and primary care setting.
  • Triage patients to differentiate their needs appropriately.
  • Evaluate patients in a timely manner, prioritizing patient care over clerical duties.
  • Perform a thorough history and physical exam on each patient.
  • Create individualized, evidence-based plans of care.
  • Consult with supervising or back-up physician when necessary.
  • Manage private, occupational medicine, and workers’ compensation patients effectively.
  • Follow evidence-based standards for ordering laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies.
  • Utilize evidence-based resources for treatment options.
  • Order and prescribe medications based on best practice standards.
  • Consult and refer to specialists as needed.
  • Perform procedures including local anesthesia, digital blocks, wound management and closure, foreign body removal, incision and drainage, manage orthopedic appliances, and initial fracture management.
  • Comply with current rules and regulations set by governing bodies.
  • Educate patients regarding their disease process and discharge plan.
  • Approach the vocation of healthcare as an opportunity for lifelong learning.
  • Complete training requirements, including CME for specialty.
  • Serve as a resource in educating other staff members.
  • Treat every patient professionally and compassionately.
  • Communicate with clinical staff regarding patient conditions and plans of care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Arrive to work on time and adhere to the dress code.
  • Efficiently evaluate and treat patients while maintaining quality and safety.
