Job Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and documenting all vital information
- Scribing information for the dermatologist
- Providing post-operative wound care to patients
- Drawing blood and performing suture removal
- Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as surgical photographs, biopsies (punch, DIF, and shave), excisions, electrodessication and curettage, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, trichograms, Tzank preps, dermabrasion, and patch testing
Required Skills
Core Skills
- 1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
- Organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
Preferred Skills
- Certified Medical Assistant or DERM Tech certification
- Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed
Requirements
Experience: 1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office
Education: Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field
License & Certification:
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants need to complete Forefront Derm Tech certification)
