Job Responsibilities
- Promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the nurse, physician, healthcare team, and other healthcare providers.
- Assist with daily living activities and comfort measures.
- Perform basic patient care functions, including ADLs, ambulation, and vital signs.
- Require approved advanced technical training skills, such as phlebotomy, simple treatments, and dressing changes.
- Perform additional advanced skills to support clinical care, depending on the needs of the unit.
- Perform clerical functions such as retrieval of data, maintaining unit supplies, and transporting supplies/patient medications.
- Work in a fast-paced environment requiring multi-tasking and effective communication.
- Take direction from a variety of care providers.
- Engage with patients and families to address needs and promote compliance with the treatment plan.
- Participate in hourly patient rounding and respond to call lights professionally.
- Protect rights and dignity of patients while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor data entry for key patient safety information.
