Job Responsibilities
- Administers pre-employment health screenings, required annual health testing, and immunizations, including fit testing and inoculations.
- Provides care for on-duty work-related injuries or exposures, including testing, follow-up care, and documentation.
- Acts as a resource for employees and leadership on health-related matters, including physician reports and workplace medical restrictions.
- Monitors and tracks compliance with regulatory health requirements, preparing reports and making necessary recommendations.
- Develops and delivers health education and illness prevention programs based on facility needs.
- Maintains accurate and confidential employee health records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Participates in organizational committees, contributing to the development and implementation of safety and health initiatives.
- Tracks and responds to outbreaks, epidemics, or public health emergencies, coordinating response efforts.
- Reviews and assesses trends in employee health data to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Knowledge of occupational health principles including regulatory compliance and infection control
- Proficiency in administering immunizations and managing medical records
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and deliver health education and training programs
- Organizational and analytical skills
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with OSHA, CDC, and Joint Commission guidelines
- Experience in employee health, occupational health, or workers compensation
Requirements
Experience: 2-4 years of clinical nursing experience required; 1-3 years in employee health preferred
Education:
License & Certification:
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support issued by AHA, ARC, or ASHI required
- COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse preferred
