Job Responsibilities
- Designs, plans, and manages education projects under the supervision of the Department Manager.
- Delivers nursing care to patients according to established nursing standards and professional guidelines.
- Collaborates with the manager in unit operations and exercises independent judgment.
- Plans and implements nursing care and documents nursing assessments.
- Identifies and reports situations requiring intervention and formulates care plans.
- Measures and evaluates the impact of education to improve human performance.
- Coordinates unit orientation and participates in assessing new employees.
- Facilitates student activities on the unit and serves as liaison to faculty.
- Assists with clinical ladder activities and promotes national certification.
- Participates in setting unit goals and assessing effectiveness.
- Facilitates journal clubs and assists with registration for classes.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and distinctly.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Project, Publisher, and Front Page.
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- Certification in specialty approved for the ANCC Magnet requirement.
Requirements
Experience: Three years related work experience.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) required.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse license in Florida
- CNOR preferred
Schedule:
- Full-time
- Scheduled Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
