Job Responsibilities
- Supports the nurse manager of a specific unit(s) or service.
- Acts as a mentor for others while learning the responsibilities of his/her role.
- Promotes the creation of a center of excellence for staff recruitment and retention.
- Leads staff in the performance of their daily activities.
- Participates in performance reviews, coaching, and counseling of staff.
- Holds staff accountable for the delivery of care and services through effective communication.
- Assists the nurse manager in achieving clinical and financial goals.
- Manages human/material resources as delegated.
- Models teamwork and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and other departments.
- Engages staff in decision making via shared governance processes.
- Assists with budget development and monitoring of fiscal outcomes for the work unit.
- Promotes patient-centered care and service excellence.
- Creates opportunities for self and staff to grow.
- Promotes staff competency in clinical care delivery.
- Represents the organization positively to the community.

Requirements
Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical experience
Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Instructor
- National certification in nursing administration upon hire preferred
