Job Responsibilities
- Coordinates the design, planning, evaluation, and integration of clinical education and professional development activities.
- Conducts initial and ongoing rounds communicating with charge RNs, OR control desk, college staff members, and surgeons to ensure cases proceed as planned.
- Reviews OR schedule minimally one week in advance for specific case needs.
- Expedites first case on-time starts and room turnover striving to meet all OR efficiency and quality benchmarks.
- Updates surgeon preference cards and actively participates in the annual capital equipment planning process.
- Partners with SPD, Supply Chain Operations, nursing departments, and physician offices to ensure patient care needs are met.
- Monitors vendors in the patient care areas following Healthcare Industry Representative policies and procedures.
- Participates in inventory management by adjusting PAR levels and monitoring for expired products.
- Facilitates the nursing unit’s education plan for nursing orientation and staff development.
- Defines and coordinates orientation and staff development needs for all college employees.
- Evaluates progress of individual orientation and development through goal setting and conducting evaluations.
- Assists in the development and assessment of annual staff competencies.
- Provides opportunities for interaction with employees regarding professional growth and educational goals.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of college staffing plan and required FTEs.
- Leads performance management initiatives including the preparation for regulatory surveys.
- Collaborates with managers to develop unit standards, policies, and performance monitoring tools.
- Maintains clinical expertise and demonstrates ability to conduct quality/environmental surveillance auditing.
- Promotes an environment supportive of research/evidence-based practice.
- Contributes to professional and scholarly nursing activities.
- Participates in meeting the Goals and Objectives of Perioperative Services.

Requirements
Experience: 2 years in area of practice (Bachelor's) or 4 years in area of practice (Associate's)
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate's degree in Nursing
License & Certification:
- Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
