Job Responsibilities

  • Assess human responses and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals or families.
  • Be fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered.
  • Provide nursing care in an outpatient setting.
  • Exercise transformational leadership in a professional practice setting.
  • Help build the team by assisting others to succeed through role modeling and mentoring.
  • Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and skill level of staff.
  • Assign duties and lunches for staff when performing charge role.
  • Maintain a safe environment considering patient condition and intervention complexity.

  • Accept assignments outside primary unit as required.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Promote advancement of the nursing profession through engagement in professional organizations.
  • Participate in systematic peer review and seek informal feedback on practice.
  • Meet time and attendance guidelines per hospital policy.
  • Place patient satisfaction at the core of nursing duties.
  • Participate in department-specific patient satisfaction initiatives.
  • Promote compassionate communication that is patient-centered.
  • Assess and resolve patient/family concerns.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills to complete duties within the established shift.
