Job Responsibilities
- Ensure appropriate reimbursement for patient care services.
- Participate in the Patient Assessment Process through completion of MDS and accompanying Care Area Assessments (CAAs).
- Assist in the development of individualized patient care plans and identify patient needs and projected outcomes according to Federal and State regulations.
- Contribute to the nursing center interdisciplinary Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process while following RAI guidelines for completion, computer encoding, and electronic transmission of the MDS.
- Identify changes in patient condition in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team and coordinate scheduling and completion of indicated assessments.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living training for new hires and ongoing education for existing staff.
- Attend educational programs to maintain knowledge of current RAI/Prospective Payment System regulations.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse licensed by the state in good standing
- Experience in a hospital, long-term facility, or related healthcare setting
- Experience completing MDSs and Care Plans
- Knowledge of general, rehabilitative, and restorative nursing practices, medical procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care
