Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Guide patient teaching activities under the clinical guidance of Registered Nurses.
- Assist in the assessment of physical, psychological, and social dimensions of patients.
- Help plan and implement individual treatment programs in the health care unit and housing units.
- Administer medications and interventions according to provider instructions.
- Document nursing encounters, patient responses, and effectiveness of care.
- Maintain working and living areas and supplies in good order.
- Serve as a member of a nursing care and treatment team and assist the physician as assigned.
- Utilize in-house resource personnel for treatment and consultation.
- Implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Take vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Apply and change dressings.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned upon receiving necessary training.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Current, unrestricted STATE Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) License
- Current CPR Certification
- Ability to assess and document patient care
Preferred Skills
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience
- Correctional experience
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience; correctional experience preferred
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
License & Certification:
- Current, unrestricted STATE Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) License
- Current CPR Certification
