Job Responsibilities
- Provide anesthetic care for all types of patients and procedures in cooperation with supervising physician.
- Administer anesthesia to render patients insensitive to pain during surgery/procedures.
- Monitor patients' physical reactions to anesthetics, sedatives, and analgesics.
- Maintain excellence in airway management and usage of airway adjuncts.
- Minimize risks of infection for patients and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in pre-anesthetic evaluation and selection of anesthetic agents.
- Perform techniques of the anesthetic plan, including intravenous catheter insertion and endotracheal intubation.
- Monitor patient responses to anesthesia and initiate corrective measures if necessary.
- Evaluate and manage patients in the immediate post-operative period.
- Administer IV fluids and blood products as necessary.
- Document patient status in the anesthesia record.
- Perform safety and performance checks on anesthesia-related equipment.
- Participate in surgical pause with the surgical team.
- Provide anesthesia care during life-threatening emergencies in absence of an anesthesiologist.
- Assist in teaching and evaluating newly-hired CRNAs and medical students.
- Manage controlled substances according to policies and guidelines.
- Efficiently provide anesthetics conducive to rapid turnover and high case volume.
Required Skills

- Current RN and APRN licensure
- Board Certified/Recertified by Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
