Job Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care to specific patient populations to optimize care and experience.
- Coordinate the plan of care and act as a liaison between providers, departments, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with procedures, perform tests, prepare or administer patient medications, and obtain specimens.
- Act as first contact for patients, providing triaging and medical advice where applicable.
- Monitor and manage patients' appointments, testing, and labs necessary for the patient population.
- Assist with obtaining prior-authorizations for the patient population.
- Prepare educational material for patient use.
- Educate and counsel patients concerning medical condition, medication, or treatment.
- Provide specialized nursing assistance in research efforts when applicable.
- Provide advice, education, and consultation services to nursing staff caring for the same patient population.
- Attend conferences or educational opportunities to ensure up-to-date knowledge.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse licensure
- Coordination of patient care
- Patient triaging and education
- Basic Life Support certification
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Certification relevant to specialized care
Requirements
Experience: Two years’ experience as an RN OR five years’ experience as an LPN required.
Education: Current unencumbered licensure through the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses or multi-state licensure.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse licensure
