Job Responsibilities

  • Review and understand course objectives and apply teaching techniques to achieve goals.
  • Model effective communication that engages students and improves learning.
  • Discuss student concerns related to learning experiences.
  • Assist students in understanding values and ideals of the healthcare profession.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clinical sites.
  • Participate in formal and informal meetings with faculty members.
  • Provide instruction in clinical, classroom, and simulation lab settings.
  • Supervise a group of 6 to 10 students during clinical rotations.
  • Coordinate patient assignments with clinicians at the clinical site.
  • Orient students to the clinical area and demonstrate proper procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with care and conduct policies during clinical instruction.
  • Lead discussions to assess student learning and achievement of clinical objectives.
  • Teach students duties required at the clinical site and address their questions.
  • Maintain clinical standards and expectations throughout the course.
  • Evaluate and grade student performance.
  • Maintain professional knowledge in contemporary nursing practice.
  • Communicate with coordinators to resolve clinical issues.
  • Collaborate with faculty members and participate in faculty meetings.
  • Participate in ongoing program evaluation activities.
  • Adhere to faculty expectations set by the College and the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional nursing experience within the last 5 years.

Education: Master’s degree in nursing required.

  • Active RN license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
