Job Responsibilities

Work closely with the Nurse Manager and nursing leadership team to support the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives of Jackson Health System.
Improve employee engagement through collaboration and accountability, meeting one on one with staff and acknowledging team members for performance.
Lead structured active and motivating huddles before shifts, resolving staff issues with the Unions.
Ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, and competency of clinical and support staff.
Participate in and initiate the corrective action process when necessary.
Provide, modify, and coordinate the highest standard of care and patient/family education.
Monitor bedside handoff and patient responsiveness from the call light.
Facilitate education of employees, including clinical competencies for unit staff and orientation of new staff.
Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and Director to formulate short and long-term goals aligned with organizational priorities.
Recruit and orient new employees, overseeing comprehensive unit orientation.
Participate in budgetary planning and cost management strategies.

Required Skills

Experience in nursing management

Requirements

Experience: Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience, with management experience strongly preferred and at least 4 years of critical care/ICU nursing experience highly preferred.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.

License & Certification:

Valid Florida RN license
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
