Job Responsibilities

Provide Clinical site education to students enrolled at the assigned Workforce Development Program site.
Deliver education in the skills lab and/or clinical setting according to established curriculum and faculty expertise.
Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in assigned healthcare facilities.
Evaluate student performance in relation to clinical learning outcomes per Unitek College's policies and procedures.
Provide timely feedback on clinical performance or specific events after observation.
Assist in maintaining student records, including clinical and skills lab attendance and skills check-off forms.
Ensure clinical assignments meet both student and facility needs.
Determine effective methods to observe, instruct, and evaluate students.
Continuously improve the quality of instruction.
Demonstrate or acquire skills for utilizing online activities to enhance course content during teaching.
Submit required program reports and forms to the Academic Site Director on time.
Stay updated with innovative technologies and safety regulations.
Participate in committee activities that support the nursing program's mission.
Attend faculty meetings.
Provide access to students for communication through scheduling office hours and electronic communication.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum four years’ experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care; one year in the last five years preferred.

Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university; BSN and currently enrolled in a Master’s program may be considered for Clinical Teaching Assistant.

License & Certification:

Valid, unencumbered license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing
Eligibility for approval by CA BRN as Instructor for relevant nursing disciplines

Schedule:

Flexibility required; clinical rotations can include days, evenings, weekends.
