Job Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Serve as a leader of the healthcare team; delegate tasks appropriately and demonstrate accountability.
  • Understand own and team members scope of practice, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate professional, supportive behavior and lead through the change process.
  • Utilize communication strategies to achieve intended outcomes.
  • Participate in problem identification and resolution.
  • Mentor, orient, and coach others in unit-specific operations and patient care activities.
  • Share responsibility and authority with subordinates and hold them accountable for performance.
  • Prioritize, delegate, and supervise work assignments to ensure completion of patient care activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and standards of practice.
  • Develop and contribute to individualized plans of care and monitor patient progress.
  • Ensure patient safety related to medications and procedures.
  • Document accurately and legibly all nursing process interventions.
  • Discuss patient findings with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Adhere to workplace safety principles and practices.
  • Practice customer service standards as defined by the Medical Center.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and functional work environment.
  • Act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees and team members.
  • Organize work to minimize the use of overtime.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum six (6) months of experience in an acute or sub-acute facility within the last three (3) years.

Education: Completion of RN Program.

License & Certification:

  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association

Schedule:

  • Temporary seasonal position with a commitment duration of 5 months from date of hire, requires working every other weekend and some holidays.
