Job Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing process to deliver nursing care to a specified patient population.
- Adheres to infection prevention guidelines.
- Follows policies, procedures, and standards of practice to deliver safe and optimal care.
- Assesses patient history, physiological, and psychosocial status.
- Communicates with the patient, family, medical staff, and others during the continuum of care.
- Complies with Joint Commission’s national patient safety goals.
- Maintains regulatory compliance consistent with quality standards and ethical obligations.
- Participates in activities aligned with the Magnet Model and organizational activities.
- Engages in Peer Review and professional development activities.
- Acts as a preceptor in an active and engaged manner.
- Provides age-specific individualized care supporting patient safety interventions.
- Educates patients and families throughout the care of patients.
- Uses critical thinking to formulate and carry out care plans based on patient needs.
- Utilizes resources economically.
- Administers medications safely.
- Participates as an integral member of the Orthopedic Center of Excellence Program.
- Assesses, identifies nursing diagnoses, and treats orthopedic patient conditions.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams to ensure comprehensive education and treatment programs.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse License
- BCLS or ACLS Certification
- Ability to assess and identify nursing diagnoses
- Competence in administering medications safely
- Critical thinking skills
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with orthopedic patient care
- Knowledge of safe patient handling techniques
Requirements
Experience: 1 year of experience in nursing
Education: College Diploma in Nursing
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse License
- BCLS or ACLS Certification
