Job Responsibilities

Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status.
Formulates a goal-directed plan of care when and where appropriate.
Implements care thoroughly, skillfully, consistently, and continuously.
Establishes priorities for patient care based on essential patient needs and available unit resources.
Identifies patient/family learning needs and acts to meet them.
Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to patient/family rights, age-specific needs, and cultural and ethical beliefs.
Provides/coordinates care for patients/patient populations.
Establishes effective working relationships with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
Acknowledges staff rights and cultural and ethical beliefs.
Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members.
Evaluates effectiveness of care given by healthcare team members.
Utilizes effective communication methods and skills.

Required Skills

Demonstrated knowledge of the RN scope of practice
Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms in English

Preferred Skills

Certification in specialty preferred.

Requirements

Experience: 1 year recent experience in oncology practice, including ability to work with chemotherapeutic agents.

Education: High School Diploma/GED; Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program or licensed vocational nursing program with required clinical experience.

License & Certification:

Registered Nurse License (California)
Basic Life Support
