Job Responsibilities
- Performs assessment and data collection in a systematic manner, focusing on various patient statuses.
- Formulates goal-directed plans of care when appropriate.
- Implements care consistently and thoroughly.
- Establishes priorities based on essential patient needs and available resources.
- Identifies patient/family learning needs and acts to meet them.
- Demonstrates awareness of patient/family rights and cultural beliefs.

- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for professional practice.
- Participates in staff development activities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management.

- Participates in nursing research activities.
- Identifies and solves problems effectively.
- Demonstrates service philosophy in interactions with patients and healthcare team members.
- Provides data for staffing decisions and demonstrates flexibility.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication for documentation.
- Documents patient care and unit activities accurately and concisely.
- May train in specialty areas and require certifications within 6 months of hire.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Knowledge of RN scope of practice
- Effective written and oral communication skills

Preferred Skills
- Experience in Neonatal Level III nursery
- Completion of KP NICU Training Program
Requirements
Experience: One year recent experience in Neonatal Level III nursery or completion of a KP NICU Training Program within the past 12 months.
Education: High School Diploma/GED and Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Basic Life Support
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program
