Job Responsibilities
- Uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable laws.
- Serve as a leader of the health care team; delegate tasks appropriately and demonstrate accountability.
- Understand own and team members' scope of practice and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Demonstrate professional, supportive behavior and champion new ideas.
- Lead and direct others through the change process and utilize communication strategies for intended outcomes.
- Participate in problem identification and resolution.
- Mentor, orient, and coach others in unit specific operations and patient care activities.
- Share responsibility and authority with subordinates and hold them accountable for performance.
- Prioritize, delegate, and supervise work assignments to ensure completion of patient care activities.
- Comply with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Develop and contribute to the individualized plan of care, ensuring multidisciplinarity and cultural appropriateness.
- Monitor patient progress based on care plans and revise as necessary.
- Ensure effective development and completion of discharge plans and patient education.
- Document accurately in a timely manner, reflecting nursing processes and evaluations.
- Discuss patient findings and progress with physicians and other team members.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
- Adhere to workplace safety principles and maintain a safe environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to patient needs and requests.
- Act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees and team members.
- Attend all mandatory meetings and participate in professional development activities.
- Organize work to minimize the use of overtime and assist in systems improvement.
