Position: Healthcare Professional responsible for administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs hyperbaric chamber operator duties.
  • Prepares, educates and orients patients about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
  • Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider.
  • Monitors performance of hyperbaric chamber equipment and patient responses.
  • Makes data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits.
  • Operates and maintains hyperbaric chamber(s) and support systems.
  • Participates in the safety program by conducting safety drills.
  • Evaluates equipment and supplies used in chambers to ensure safety requirements are met.
  • Collaborates with Program Director for chamber upgrades and compliance with safety standards.
  • Works closely with facility management and medical personnel for smooth operations.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Reviews department safety incidents and conducts in-service training.
  • Conducts quarterly safety drills for emergency responses.
  • Maintains compliance with NFPA 99 regarding hyperbarics.
  • Serves on the hospital’s safety or environment of care committee.
  • May function as a Documentation Assistant if CMA or LPN.

Requirements

Experience: Two or more years’ experience in healthcare preferred.

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

License & Certification:

  • Current Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) or Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS)
  • Current healthcare professional certification or license as applicable.
