Job Responsibilities
- Assist the DON and ADON in evaluating and directing daily nursing operations in compliance with all regulations.
- Ensure nursing staff adhere to job descriptions and facility policies.
- Address complaints and grievances, escalating issues to the Director of Nursing Services as needed.
- Provide effective leadership to manage the assigned unit.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain adequate staffing 24/7, minimizing overtime and agency use.
- Implement progressive counseling and recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Provide professional guidance and supervision to unit staff.
- Attend committee meetings and participate in quality assurance activities.
- Teach and evaluate nursing skills, ensuring high standards of resident care.
- Oversee the completion of MDS on the unit.
- Develop and implement discharge plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Manage budgets, prepare reports, and participate in staff recruitment.
- Foster a caring atmosphere, respecting residents’ needs and rights.

Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
