Job Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
- Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic Intensive Care environment.
- Implement and direct care using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual ACC patients.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process.
- Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others.
- Promote a supportive environment treating patients and families with dignity and respect.
- Maintain high quality, age-specific care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Delegate tasks to appropriate caregivers.
- Participate in Cardiovascular Department specific initiatives and process improvement.
- Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, nurse technicians, student nurses, and/or nurse interns.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Experience: Minimum of one-year experience required
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; BSN required within 24 months of hire for those hired after 6/1/12
License & Certification:
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
- Current BLS provider certification
- ACLS required within six months of hire or transfer
- ONS Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course required within 60 days of hire
