Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure and deliver high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.
  • Direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures.
  • Serve as a resource person for staff and model commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values.
  • Coordinate patient placement within the unit according to acuity, skill mix and staff availability.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing educational needs of the unit.
  • Participate and direct patient care conferences, addressing issues such as patient discharge needs.
  • Make rounds with physicians.
  • Stay informed of patient condition changes and make appropriate clinical decisions.
  • Accountable for orders, assuring that they are appropriate and carried out in a timely manner.

Requirements

Experience: 2 Years acute care RN experience preferred

Education: Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree

License & Certification:

  • Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license
  • BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start
  • NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
