Job Responsibilities

Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families.
Attains knowledge and competency reflective of current standards of practice.
Interacts and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
Integrates evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
Promotes safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
Identifies patients correctly by using two unique ways.
Observes, checks, and monitors all equipment used to confirm that items are functioning properly.
Maintains a safe therapeutic working environment and recognizes the need for action in emergency situations.
Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed.

Required Skills

Current Illinois Nursing Licensure
CPR Certification (American Heart Association)
Ability to perform ACLS, PALS, NRP within six months depending on unit requirements
