Job Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct restorative care services and its programs and activities.
- Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, and other related departments in planning restorative care.
- Develop and maintain restorative care standards.
- Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
- Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing restorative care services.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting as necessary.
- Interpret restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc.
- Assist the Administrator and/or HR Director in the recruitment and selection of competent restorative care personnel.
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
- Ensure all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care.
- Develop and participate in programs designed for in-service education, on-the-job training, and orientation classes for newly assigned personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing
- Experience in restorative care
- Training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in long-term care
- Compassionate and empathetic personality
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year in restorative care
Education: Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing
