Job Responsibilities

Demonstrates expertise in nursing and in nursing education.
Facilitates student learning and educates compassionate and caring individuals eligible for the State License Exam (NCLEX-RN).
Provides professional leadership and support as an educator, mentor, and facilitator.
Utilizes different methodologies of teaching to prepare various kinds of learners and fulfill expected student outcomes.
Follows institution’s policies and procedures stated in the faculty handbook and catalog.
Participates in faculty meetings and collaborates with the Director of Nursing on improvement plans.
Delivers a fully assigned teaching load.
Supervises students in the clinical setting, as well as Skills/Simulation as needed.
Maintains an active interest in students and fosters a welcoming learning environment.
Collaborates with the Clinical Director for student placements in clinical facilities.
Assists with clinical preceptorship if applicable.

Required Skills

Core Skills

Active and encumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
Master’s Degree in Nursing
Medical Surgical and Mental Health background
Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Three or more years of teaching experience
Three or more years of clinical experience in specialty being taught
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products

Requirements

Experience: Three or more years of teaching experience; three or more years of clinical experience

Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing required

License & Certification:

Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida
Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association
