Shift: Monday-Thursday: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Friday: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Job Responsibilities

  • Obtaining detailed medical histories and performing comprehensive physical exams.
  • Developing a treatment plan of care with considerable independence under physician direction.
  • Performing basic physical assessments using observation, inspection, auscultation, palpation, and percussion.
  • Coordinating medical plan of care.
  • Securing and evaluating medical health and developmental history of patients.
  • Performing assessments and evaluations via Telemedicine, as applicable.
  • Collaborating with managing physicians to develop and implement patient care clinical pathways.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement in all aspects of the facility.
  • Facilitating patient flow, communication, and problem resolution.
  • Assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Serving as a resource person and role model for staff.
  • Encouraging participation in facility activities.
  • Writing and executing orders in accordance with legal, ethical, state, and facility standards.
  • Administering medications and treatments safely as prescribed.
  • Identifying community health resources.
  • Performing necessary follow-ups on lab and x-ray results as directed by the physician.
  • Consulting the physician regarding patients showing signs of instability or who may require hospital admission.
  • Participating in mandatory training and staff meetings.
  • Reporting all parent/patient complaints to the manager promptly.
  • Conveying respect for patient rights and treating all patients with dignity.
  • Practicing positive customer relations and fostering a learning work environment.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Functioning as a supportive team member.

  • Experience in pediatrics
  • Emergency/Urgent Care experience

Requirements

Experience:

Education: Graduation from an approved Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program

License & Certification:

  • Valid license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Virginia
  • Valid DEA License (if applicable)
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
