- Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services
- Assists with personal hygiene of patients
- Takes vital signs
- Changes bed linens
- May serve and collect food trays
- Provides for between-meal nourishment
- Cleans, sterilizes, stores, and prepares other supplies
