Job Responsibilities

Assists patient with needs associated with personal hygiene including bathing, washing hair, brushing teeth and hair, and washing hands.
Assists patients with needs related to nutrition and feeding including feeding, drinking, and setting up meal trays.
Assists patients with needs related to ambulation, including dangling, walking, using assistive devices, and implementing fall prevention measures.
Meets patients' needs related to elimination, including helping patients to the bathroom, using bedside commodes, bedpans, and urinals.
Accurately monitors inputs and outputs.
Completes and documents patient vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, heart rate, and oxygenation.
Reports abnormal vital sign values to the registered nurse.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Previous nursing assistant, medical assistant or related experience preferred; one year hospital clerical experience preferred.

Education: Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course; High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
