Job Responsibilities
- Conduct basic screening assessments and provide healthcare services to individuals detained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
- Work administratively under the Regional Program Manager and Regional Deputy Program Manager
- Perform healthcare services under the medical direction of the National Medical Director and Physician Supervisors
- Deliver healthcare in accordance with approved medical protocols and in compliance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) directives
- Provide care to persons of all ages including infants, children, adults, and pregnant females in diverse settings
- Perform history and physical assessments, behavioral health care, minor outpatient procedures, and patient education
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy of medical records, complying with HIPAA regulations
- Participate in disease surveillance activities and public health studies as needed
- Assure a safe and clean working environment and properly dispose of biologically hazardous waste
- Complete all annual trainings as required or any additional training as assigned
- Communicate end of shift reports to the oncoming shift
- Provide emergency care in life-threatening situations until Emergency Medical Services arrive
- Participate with the Peer Review process and assist with orienting new PAs or nurse practitioners

- Experience in detention/correctional healthcare
- Experience in pediatric settings
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care
Education: Bachelor's Degree and completion of a US-based accredited Nurse Practitioner training program
License & Certification:
- Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Board Certification by relevant nursing boards
- Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
