Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the patient intake process.
  • Take patient intake calls and provide information to individuals, agencies, and facilities requesting information regarding potential admissions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with ongoing sources of referral to alternate treatment sources when appropriate.
  • Know and understand the Intake Call System Procedures and respond to telephone inquiry calls.
  • Obtain clinical information on potential patients and determine clinical and financial eligibility.
  • Complete Intake Assessment with patient and/or family.
  • Initiate verification of insurance coverage to determine viability of insurance for individuals seeking admission.
  • Greet new admissions and their families, making them feel comfortable and welcome.
  • Answer questions and alleviate concerns of new admissions and their families.
  • Set up tours when appropriate and inform facility staff of tours and assessments.
  • Orient residents and families/guardians to the facility covering policies such as phone, mail, visiting, personal belongings, key contacts, and treatment participation.
  • Determine a provisional diagnosis for mental health and/or chemical dependence treatment.
  • Successfully precertify mental health and/or chemical dependence treatment with insurance companies.
  • Assist in locating an available, suitable treatment resource when the patient is not appropriate for the clinical program.
  • Exhibit effective oral and written communication related to the Patient Intake Process.

Preferred Skills

  • Two years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting

Requirements

Experience: Minimum two years of clinical experience in psychiatric setting preferred

Education: Master's degree from an accredited university in a human service area or RN

License & Certification:

  • LCSW
  • LMFT
  • LMHC
  • RN
