Job Responsibilities

Evaluate quality of resident care and outcomes as they relate to healthcare-associated infections.
Collect, prepare, and analyze healthcare-associated infection data.
Present infection data and make recommendations for actions.
Monitor employee compliance in use of barriers and infection prevention measures.
Prepare and present educational offerings for the staff.
Serve as a resource to all departments and personnel.
Implement programs to protect healthcare workers, visitors, and others in the healthcare environment.
Set and recommend policies and procedures to prevent adverse events.
Provide internal and external reporting of information and data.
Promote compliance with regulations, guidelines, and accreditation requirements.

Required Skills

Core Skills

Ability to develop policies and procedures
Experience in infection control
Long-term care experience preferred
Currently certified in CPR

Preferred Skills

Associate's degree from an accredited School of Nursing
Registered Nurse currently licensed in the state of employment

Requirements

Experience: Long-term care experience preferred

Education: Completion of a basic training program for Infection Control

License & Certification:

Currently certified in CPR
Registered Nurse currently licensed in the state of employment
