Job Responsibilities
- Leads nursing practice using the tenets of the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care.
- Demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) and role models expected behaviors.
- Ensures integration of PHR into clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care.
- Confirms that staff members round hourly on all patients by review of rounding validation data and observation of unit rounding.
- Validates Associate Director/Clinical Nurse Manager competency in PHR and provides feedback as needed.
- Synthesizes feedback regarding patient experience and staff engagement to develop and implement action plans.
- Follows up on all patient concerns in a timely manner and provides service recovery as needed.
- Designs, supports and leads a safe, therapeutic, and efficient patient-centered care environment.
- Identifies and investigates issues or variances in practice/operations by participating in the RCA process.
- Leads interdisciplinary quality improvement teams and communicates with staff and leadership about unit progress.
- Monitors information technology infrastructure and corrects gaps in clinical nurse documentation.
- Mentors Associate Directors and Clinical Nurse Managers in escalation of potential safety hazards.
- Supports implementation of the mission, vision, goals, and objectives of the department.
- Provides administrative oversight to ensure all activity supports the goals of the organization.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory agency mandates.
- Evaluates performance of Associate Directors/Clinical Nurse Managers/Assistant Nurse Managers.
- Encourages participation in quality and safety initiatives and facilitates organizational change.
- Establishes and implements a system that supports best practice patient care decisions.

Requirements
Experience: 7+ years minimum demonstrated clinical and administrative expertise in nursing practice.
Education: Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing and Masters degree in nursing or health-related specialty required; doctorate preferred.
License & Certification:
- Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State
