Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components.
Coordinates care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction.
Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
Facilitates shift reports and warm hand-offs.
Develops and facilitates nurse-led psychoeducational groups.
Uses therapeutic communication techniques and practices de-escalation.
Actively participates in interdisciplinary treatment teams and environment of care rounds.
Documents nursing assessments, plans of care, safety observations, and rounds according to policy.
Maintains professional boundaries to protect patient vulnerabilities.
Collaborates in development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures.
Provides constructive feedback for peers.
Fosters a safe environment for the professional development of healthcare professionals.
Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes.
Responsible for reported mental health outcomes at the program or service level.

Experience: Mental health experience preferred

Education: Master's Degree in Nursing or related field

License & Certification:

Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States.

Schedule:

COVID-19 Requirements: Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all VA Health Care Personnel.
