Job Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components.
- Coordinates care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction.
- Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
- Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Facilitates shift reports and warm hand-offs.
- Develops and facilitates nurse-led psychoeducational groups.
- Uses therapeutic communication techniques and practices de-escalation.
- Actively participates in interdisciplinary treatment teams and environment of care rounds.
- Documents nursing assessments, plans of care, safety observations, and rounds according to policy.
- Maintains professional boundaries to protect patient vulnerabilities.
- Collaborates in development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures.
- Provides constructive feedback for peers.
- Fosters a safe environment for the professional development of healthcare professionals.
- Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes.
- Responsible for reported mental health outcomes at the program or service level.

Requirements
Experience: Mental health experience preferred
Education: Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
License & Certification:
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States.
Schedule:
- Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- No compressed/flexible scheduling
COVID-19 Requirements: Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all VA Health Care Personnel.
